Christmas in August is Sunday, August 22nd! We want to try something new this year — we’d like to partner with our own school teachers within the church this year to provide school supplies and other needed items. Because your ministry extends to more than just students, we’d also like for you to provide us the name and needs of one other teacher you work with (in hopes of building a ministry relationship to share the Gospel).

So, if you are a school teacher, please reach out to us and let us know how we can help out, whether by an amazon shopping list or specific lists of items needed. You can call the church office or email us at info@vansickle.org.

Gift cards ($5-$10) to Walmart, Amazon, or any local restaurant (Subway, Sonic, Chick-Fil-A, Whataburger, etc) would be much appreciated. These would be gifted to CMISD staff throughout the year. I have 26 staff in my Reading Academy, 11 first-year teachers & 11 mentor teachers. I also like to show some love to our custodial & cafeteria crews when I can. Any cards given will have a card attached stating it was a gift from Vansickle Baptist Church members.

Our students could use: orthodontic wax, boys/girls underwear for teenagers, saltine crackers, pre-packaged snacks, Capri-sun or kool-aid juice packs, sample size deodorants/shampoo/conditioner/hair gel/toothpaste/mouthwash/body wash and combs (to have a hygiene wall where students can obtain any hygiene items needed), tubes of carmex (easy to use q-tip for multi-student use), Bath Towels.

For the clinic it would be great to have hygiene products- deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dental supplies, floss, toothpaste, brush, comb, hair gel and spray, chapstick, wash cloth, towels, nail clippers… Sometimes there are displaced older students who have to leave home with nothing but the clothes on their backs and having some toiletries means so much. Thank you very much for blessing our students!
