Camp is just around the corner, and we are BUSY (!) trying to get everything done before we head out on July 12th. Its gonna be a great week!
Sorry ladies! This trip is an exclusive for the Guys of the VBC Student Ministry… and all of the dads are welcome too. Inspired by our latest series of Bible Studies on Wednesday nights, we’re taking a few days off to head out to the Hill Country of Texas and ride the rapids down the river! We’ll be camping out at the Guadalupe River State Park in Tents, where you’ll have the opportunity to go swimming in the river and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in Texas. This is going to be a great opportunity to grow closer together as a youth group. It’s gonna be awesome!
We’ve got to have a firm count of how many are interested in going. The cost is $20 which includes our tent site, food, and tubing! You will need two permission slips: the VBC annual release form and the Tubing Company’s Release form.

The Summer Kick-Off / Pool Party out at the JaLu Pool in Greenville was AWESOME! We had over 180 people out their enjoying the water, playing games, and just having a Great Time!! (On a side note: to all those who were disappointed about the biggest / best splash competition and not being able to compete because of the pool closing early, I apologize! We will be making it up! Don’t know when yet, but it is on the to do list.) It was really cool seeing all of God’s people out having fun and enjoying one another.
Because most of our folks in the student ministry were gonna be drenched in water, we didn’t want to pass out the Summer Ministry Calendar at the pool. However, we are making those available on the web. You can download it here.
As you 
can see, it’s gonna be a busy summer with everything we’ve got planned–from VBS to Tubing Retreat, from concerts to ministry events–and it’s all done to spur growth in our youth! It’s gonna be a great summer.

I came across an article that was quite unsettling for me as I serve as the minister to our students here at Vansickle Baptist Church.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT… in order for you to REGISTER for the Best Camp Ever! This summer we are heading to Falls Creek up in Oklahoma for youth camp, July 12th-17th. And, we only have a limited number of spaces available (18 guys and 22 girls, plus 3 cooks). Since registration opened, spots have quickly begun to fill up. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON THIS AWESOME WEEK OF SUMMER! It can literally change your life!

Recreation is a major part of camp! They have numerous tournaments for churches to compete in the following events: 3-point basketball shoot out, disc golf, horseshoes, softball, and volleyball. Additionally, they also have one of the largest skate parks in the country; although, I don’t know how many of you skate. The High Ropes Challenge Course is certainly one of the highlights of the camp. There is also a 5K run on Friday morning for students and sponsors to compete in.
We are going during the 6th week of Falls Creek (July 12th-17th) and our leaders will include, for worship, the Chris Orr Band and as our camp pastor, Tony Lambert.
