We know everyone is getting vamped up for summer as the end-of-school gets closer and closer!  To celebrate the End-of-the-School-Year, we’re having a huge Pool Party on June 6th, from 7 – 9 pm at the Ja-Lu pool in Greenville.  Its going to be a great time of fun and fellowship for ALL the families of Vansickle Baptist Church… regardless of age.

We’re doing this thing right, too!  Our Baptist Men are going to be cooking out and providing some awesome hamburgers for everyone to enjoy around the pool.  We’ll even have several prizes for our fastest swimmer, best belly-flop, and largest splash!  We’ll have lots of other crazy games too, but regardless… Its going to be a lot of fun that you don’t want to miss out on!

Sunday, June 6th 7 – 9 pm at the Ja-Lu Pool in Greenville (just off of HWY 69)

Hey! We got rained out for Christian Youth Weekend back on April 2nd. So, we’re making up the trip. The new date is May 15th and the cost is still only $24, and if you have a season pass it’ll cost you nothing to get in. We need to know exactly how many tickets to order and how many chaperones to line up for transportation, etc… so sign up today to reserve your spot.

Because food is so expensive at Six Flags, we are asking students to bring a sack lunch and drinks that we can pack up into a ice chest in the van. We’ll have lunch in the picnic area just outside the park to help keep the cost down. Also, you will need a permission slip on file to be able to attend this event.

We will be meeting at the Church at 9:00 am on the morning of May 15th to pack up the ice chests and head on out.

On April 18th we had our annual Fundraiser for the youth of Vansickle Baptist Church.  At our Dinner and Dessert Auction we raised over $4,000 (!) for this year’s camp experience.  As I sit back and think on that fact, one word comes to my mind: “Awesome!”  We serve an AWESOME God… and He blesses us in amazing ways.  In addition to thanking God, we want to make sure we thank everyone else who was involved –from parents to youth, servants to greeters, and bidders to bakers!  Everyone did such a great job, and your work is so very appreciated!   God honored all your hard work.

In raising so much money, the Lord has now provided us with an opportunity to take one of the largest groups Vansickle has ever taken to summer camp.  Please be in much prayer that we will be faithful as a church and student ministry to do ALL that God desires for this year’s camp.  We want to see lives changed, and our people used.  And, in order for us to take one of the largest groups ever to camp,  everyone will need to be constantly inviting their friends (churched and unchurched alike).

If you have questions about this year’s camp, please feel free to contact Roger D.
