Our mission as a church is to bring in, build up, and serve others… seeking to fulfill both the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

We strive toward this end by encouraging our membership to integrate within themselves the following values,as we pray over our various circumstances, both individual and collective—hoping to make an impact in Hunt county and each of its respective communities.

  • Love: seeking visible, authentic, practical ways of loving one another and the community around us.
    • Compassion: serving the destitute and homeless through word and deed; and offering biblical counseling for individuals, couples, and families in distress.
    • Humility: being a people who are humble and teachable before the Word of God.
  • Authenticity: being eager to accept new people in openness, avoiding cliquishness; while encouraging transparency among both our large and small group settings.
    • Small Groups: building caring, faith-sustaining relationships among people within similar stages of life.
    • Vulnerability: being transparent about our imperfections, which encourages candor, not concealment.

    • Singles: being a place where single people can flourish with each other and in families.
    • Children: placing strong attention to bringing children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
    • Youth: providing a spiritually dynamic youth ministry that equips teenagers for courageous Christianity.
    • Seniors: honoring and caring for the senior members of our congregation.
    • Families: Building strong marriages that model the relationship between Christ and the Church.
    • Racial Diversity: personal and corporate efforts toward reconciling inter-racial relationships.

    • Worship: Being a singing people with growing appreciation for diverse expressions of love for God.
      • Growing in appreciation of both fine and folk elements in worship.
      • Focusing on both head and heart in our worship experience.
    • Giving: being generous, regular and cheerful in giving to the mission and ministries of the church, encouraging all of us to reach toward the tithe and beyond as God prospers.
    • Evangelism: continuous evangelism through our natural web of relationships.

      • aggressive participation in completing the global task of reaching unreached peoples.
      • maintaining a wartime mindset relating to the holocaust of perishing people and the use of our resources.
      • sustaining our support, fellowship and influence in the SBC and Southern Baptists of Texas.
  • The Gospel: preaching and teaching that God’s purpose was to send Jesus as the only way to salvation and forgiveness of sins.
