Will you help with the children?

Will you help with the Student Ministry (Grades 7th – 12th)?
The Student Ministry has several great needs in their department, and even the smallest help can yield great returns.  We are in dire need of a few adults who are willing to teach or help teach Sunday Morning Bible Study (even if only 2-3 times a month on a rotational basis).  We also need coordinators for in-reach and outreach.  Contact the Student Ministry Department at 903.883.4619.

 Adult Chaperones and/or Drivers for trips
 Adult Mentors for Students
 Girls & Guys Bible Study Teachers

Will you help feed those in need around our community?
Many families are finding themselves in desperate situations as the economy is putting a financial burden on more and more people.  One of the greatest things we can do for these families is provide a helping hand… be it a meal, a glass of water, a bag of groceries, etc.  At Vansickle Baptist Church we have a food pantry with which we are able to bless many families from the Hunt County area.  We are in need of people to help stock canned goods, as well as people to help supply groceries to furnish our food pantry.

Will you help a child in need within our community thru CarePortal?
CarePortal is an online platform that brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Caseworkers uncover the needs; CarePortal makes local churches aware; and thus gives them a real-time opportunity to respond.  We have partnered with them to be able to meet these needs within our community.  If you are interested in becoming involved in this ministry, contact the church office.

Will you join the band, choir, or media team?
The worship and arts ministry is one of the most dynamic ministries at Vansickle as we have the opportunity to lead our congregation each week in praise and worship of our Savior King.  Our worship team is comprised of a full-praise band and praise team, a worship choir, and our media team, without which the technical aspects of the service would not be possible.

If you enjoy leading others in praise and have a heart to sing, proficiently play a musical instrument, or are techno-savvy, we have a place for you to plug-in and we are always looking for talented people to be a part of our team.

Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! – Psalm 95:2

Will you help welcome guests to our campus?
Anytime you go somewhere new, including church, it can be a bit overwhelming and scary because you are in a new place and you do not know anyone or know your way around and seeing a smiling and welcoming face as you enter a new place goes miles in helping you to feel at ease as you enter unknown territory and being a volunteer at a welcome center, you have the opportunity to be that smiling face that makes a HUGE first impression on guests as they come on to our campus.

If you are outgoing, welcoming, love to smile and help people, then consider giving 25-30 minutes of your time serving in our welcome center ministry.  This is a high impact, low maintenance ministry, that helps make a positive first impression on guests visiting our campus.

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. – Hebrews 13:2

Mission: Arlington
Elementary classes, high school student councils, corporate volunteers, scout troops, civic clubs and more make a difference every week at Mission Arlington®/Mission Metroplex®.  Small or large, come for a few hours or stay for a week, you will make a difference in our community.  Project groups, special events and / or projects are great opportunities to get plugged in and help serve a huge need in our own backyard (of the DFW metroplex).

Reach Texas Missions Offering
Baptists in Texas see the task of reaching the unchurched as so important, that each year they dig a little deeper to give a little more through a State-wide missions offering in September.  Fittingly, the offering is called the Reach Texas Offering. Its goal is just that: to reach Texas.

Both evangelism and church planting are core elements of the Reach Texas Offering. One hundred percent of the money given to the Reach Texas Offering goes straight to evangelism training, disaster relief, church planting, missions mobilization and missions strategies.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
Every year we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of missions efforts throughout the world, Annie rallied churches to give more, pray more and do more for reaching people for Christ. The Annie Armstrong website provides a wealth of resources for promoting the offering in the local church, including supplemental materials available only online.

Baseball Camp Mission Trip to Minden, Germany
Pastor David takes a team to Minden, Germany to lead a baseball camp for kids ages 8-18.  If you love Jesus and like basseball, contact him pastor@vansickle.org and visit crossroadsgi.org to sign up.

GoStudents Mission Trips
Our student ministry takes an annual mission trip during the summer to serve outside of Texas through GoStudents (based in Oklahoma).  There are different opportunities to serve; some include working with children, families in apartment complexes, church starts, and even the homeless populations within a given community.  Check back often to see what the latest trip will entail.

Lottie Moon Missions Offering
One woman saw a need – a need for more missionaries and more resources to reach the lost for Christ around the world. Because of her urgent desire to tell all of China about Jesus Christ, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering had its beginnings over a century ago. Today, thousands of missionaries depend on Southern Baptists’ gifts to continue sharing God’s love through Worldwide missions.
